People Can Fly, a Polish game development company, is rekindling its collaboration with the Gears of War franchise.
In a recent announcement on their website, the studio revealed it will be working alongside Xbox’s first-party team, The Coalition, on a new project titled Gears of War: E-Day. Fans might remember People Can Fly for their significant role in developing 2013’s Gears of War: Judgment and assisting with the first three installments of the sci-fi shooter series.
Sebastian Wojciechowski, the CEO of People Can Fly, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “It’s both a privilege and an exciting opportunity to return to one of the most iconic series in gaming history. We’ve always been passionate about delivering the intense action and rich storytelling that Gears of War is known for.” He also conveyed his gratitude to their partners for the trust and support during this endeavor.
Adding to this, Mike Crump, head of The Coalition studio, remarked, “Gears of War: E-Day is more than just our next big title; it’s about embracing what makes Gears of War authentic and beloved. We’re thrilled to join forces with the talented team at People Can Fly, who have been integral to the franchise’s DNA for many years.”
It’s worth noting that in 2024, People Can Fly underwent significant changes, including reducing its workforce by over 150 positions.
