Nintendo recently shared some impressive figures: over 150.86 million Nintendo Switch consoles have been sold across the globe.
Between the start of 2024 and December 31st, 9.54 million units found new homes. Despite this being a 30.6% drop compared to the previous year, Nintendo noted that popular titles like “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” and “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” played a significant role in boosting console sales during that time.
In terms of games, Nintendo Switch titles have nearly reached a staggering 1.36 billion in total sales. However, in the nine-month period, game sales tallied up to 123.98 million copies, marking a 24.4% decrease compared to the previous year.
Curious about which games are topping the charts? “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” is leading with 67.35 million copies sold. Following closely, “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” hit 47.44 million, and “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” reached 35.88 million. “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” managed 32.62 million, “Super Mario Odyssey” clocked in at 29.04 million, and “Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield” together sold 26.60 million copies.
In the meantime, “Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet” have moved 26.38 million copies, while “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” reached 21.55 million. “Super Mario Party” followed with 21.10 million sold, and “New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe” rounded it off with 18.06 million copies going to gamers.
