If you’re a PS Plus member looking to grab some free PS Stars points, you’ve got just two weeks left before a not-so-popular update kicks in. Why "free"? Simply put, PS Plus subscribers earn these points regardless of PS Stars, adding a nice little bonus to their memberships. But come March 1, 2025, that perk is vanishing, as Sony revealed towards the end of last year.
The Countdown to Changes: No More PS Stars Points for Renewals
For those of you whose PS Plus subscriptions are nearing their end, it might be wise to renew before February 28. Once the calendar flips to March, Sony will stop offering PS Stars points for any subscription renewals, including PS Plus.
Earning points through PS Plus has been one of the easiest ways to rack them up, considering how challenging it can be to gather a stash big enough for notable rewards. Most of these rewards are just digital tokens without much use. However, Sony has decided to eliminate this straightforward point-collecting method after realizing its popularity.
Remember, these points now come with an expiration date, so you’ve got a year from when you earn them to make use of whatever points you manage to collect. Moving forward, PS Stars will primarily cater to those who prefer buying most of their games digitally through the PS Store.
