The Dauntless servers will be shutting down on May 29, 2025, and if you’re aiming to snag that free Xbox game on your profile before it disappears for good, you’ll want to start working on those achievements.
In May, the Xbox servers for Dauntless will be taken offline. Known for being a one-of-a-kind free-to-play game, there’s already one Xbox achievement that players can no longer earn. Since Dauntless is solely an online game, once the servers go dark, playing it will be out of the question. The team at Dauntless recently made a brief post on X, announcing that this Monster Hunter-inspired action RPG is set to terminate its services on May 29, 2025. Furthermore, they’re closing the door on any new content or updates. No specific reason was provided for this decision. When the servers shut down, all Dauntless achievements will also become unattainable. Sadly, the Entered the Gauntlet achievement, which requires earning a Crest from Gauntlet mode, has already been marked as discontinued. So, if you were planning to fully complete the base list and achieve the 1,000G, it’ll be impossible unless you’ve managed to unlock that one achievement already.
However, since its debut in 2019, Dauntless has rolled out 13 free title updates, with another 1,000 Gamerscore available across those DLC packs. Excluding that one discontinued achievement, you’re looking at a daunting completion time of 360 to 480 hours, so be prepared to commit some serious time if you want to wrap this up before the server closure.
