Take-Two Interactive has announced that it “would fully expect” to be on board with Nintendo Switch 2, though they aren’t ready to spill more details just yet.
The company has long backed the original portable console, offering gamers hits like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, and the latest versions like NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
During the Q3 2025 earnings call, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick shed some light on their journey with Nintendo. “We’ve enjoyed a strong partnership with Nintendo, supporting their platforms when it aligned with our game releases. There was a period when Nintendo’s consoles were more targeted towards younger players, and our lineup reflected that,” Zelnick noted.
“Nowadays, with the Switch—and potentially Switch 2—the console appeals to a diverse range of players,” he added. “As you may have seen, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is available on the Switch. While we don’t have any specific news at this point, you can certainly expect us to back Switch 2.”
Fans eager for more on Nintendo’s upcoming console won’t have to wait much longer. A special Nintendo Direct focusing on the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to air at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on April 2nd.
As for when you can actually get your hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, the console is slated for a worldwide release in 2025, with an exact launch date still to be announced.
