According to the latest updates, the launch of the RTX 5060 series GPUs has been postponed, with the new release window pushed back by a few weeks.
Before NVIDIA kicks off the release of the GeForce RTX 5070, we’ve caught wind of delays affecting the RTX 5060 series. Initial rumors had pegged the RTX 5060 series for a March launch, with availability in April. However, fresh reports indicate further delays.
While the exact reasons remain under wraps, Board Channels have confirmed that NVIDIA’s board partners have been informed about the change. This information hasn’t been officially announced by NVIDIA yet, so take it with a pinch of salt. Earlier reports pointed to potential bugs and supply chain issues as possible causes for the setbacks, but NVIDIA has yet to confirm these specifics.
In an internal memo, NVIDIA has alerted all AIC partners about the postponement of the RTX 5060 Ti and 5060 series. They mentioned that the RTX 5060 Ti 16G and 8G versions might not debut until mid-April, while the RTX 5060 series is expected around mid-May. However, these dates are tentative and subject to change based on further updates from NVIDIA.
Now, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is slated for a ‘mid-April’ release, with the RTX 5060 following a month later in ‘mid-May.’ The RTX 5060 Ti’s variants are anticipated to launch simultaneously. Yet, NVIDIA hasn’t set any fixed dates, even for their closest partners.
There’s speculation that these NVIDIA releases might coincide with AMD’s RX 9060 series debut. The RX 9060 lineup includes the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 models, both offered in 8 GB and 16 GB capacities, positioning them as direct rivals to the RTX 5060 Ti’s 8 GB and 16 GB options. AMD hasn’t announced a launch date for the RX 9060 series, but rumors suggest a second-quarter release.
When it does hit the market, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti will succeed the RTX 4060 Ti, sporting 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a 180W TDP. The RTX 5060 is set to take over from the RTX 4060, featuring 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. Interestingly, leaks hint at a 12 GB VRAM version of the RTX 5060, which could give NVIDIA an edge over the RX 9060. The latter, as per current expectations, is only offering an 8 GB variant.
