Lately, I’ve been toying with the idea that all the excitement around Verdansk returning to Warzone next week might steal the spotlight from multiplayer and Zombies content in Black Ops 6 Season 3. Well, it looks like I jumped the gun on that one. The powerhouse of content that is Call of Duty shows no signs of slowing. Sure, everyone, including me, is buzzing with Warzone fever and Verdansk nostalgia, but there’s a lot more on the horizon for Black Ops 6. Season 3 is gearing up to be a blockbuster, especially with the introduction of Shattered Veil, the brand new Zombies map. Just recently, Treyarch gave us a sneak peek, revealing the return of the Ray Gun Mark 2 alongside a beloved Wonder Weapon and a fan-favorite perk.
In recent times, Zombies enthusiasts like myself have often found themselves left wanting more, so it’s a pleasant surprise to see how much support Black Ops 6 is giving to its Zombies mode. Come next week, when Shattered Veil drops, we’ll be looking at an impressive total of five round-based Zombies maps for Black Ops 6. This thrilling new map transports us to the hills overlooking Liberty Falls, taking refuge in the Colton Hall mansion where S.A.M., the giant AI-infused Pokéball, awaits. The mission? To uncover the secrets of the Sentinel Artifact. From what I’ve seen, the map is a stunner, featuring both a sprawling, decrepit manor and a hidden lab where S.A.M. chills below ground.
Adventuring through Colton Hall, you won’t just be exploring—you’ll be hunting for two iconic COD Zombies weapons. First up is the Ray Gun Mark 2, the burst-fire sibling of the fan-favorite laser gun. Also making its grand entrance is the Wunderwaffe DG-2, that first Wonder Weapon known for zapping Zombies with its electric chains.
And here’s something that might thrill long-time players: a well-loved Perk-A-Cola is making its comeback. After a lengthy absence, Double Tap returns with its own themed vending machine in the Shattered Veil map—and yes, you’ll also find it in other maps via the Wunderfizz machine. For those out of the loop, Double Tap quickens your weapon’s fire rate, letting you inflict damage faster—just be warned that it might drain your ammo at lightning speed too.
Prepare to face two fresh foes as you dive into Shattered Veil—they’re anything but ordinary. First in the lineup is the Elder Disciple, a sorcerer-esque Zombie variant that’s turning heads. These Disciples have the sinister power to call more undead to them and upgrade everyday Zombies into deadly adversaries. Get too close, and their piercing scream will send you flying, so keeping your distance with ranged weaponry is a must. The second nightmare is the Toxic Zombie, driven by a singular mission: to sprint your way and burst into a pool of harmful acid. Neutralize them from afar before they reach explosion distance.
As you traverse Shattered Veil, you’ll stumble upon new Microwave Traps ready to crisp any Zombies foolish enough to pass through them. Plus, the might of the Death Machine is now at your fingertips as a scorestreak—rev it up and let chaos ensue.
Set your calendar: Shattered Veil arrives with the kickoff of Season 3 of Black Ops 6 Zombies on Wednesday, April 2.
This gives you just a few days to sharpen those skills, so why not revisit some of the existing maps in Black Ops 6 to get in the zone? Or, dive into some top-notch zombie or FPS games to whet your appetite.
