Nintendo has officially announced that the upcoming Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2, 2025. They’ve also confirmed that the broadcast will last around an hour.
Gamers across different time zones can catch the presentation at 6 a.m. PT, 9 a.m. ET, 2 p.m. BST, or 3 p.m. CEST.
Just last month, Nintendo pulled back the curtain on the Nintendo Switch 2, finally putting an end to the swirling rumors and so-called leaks that had been ramping up anticipation for the console’s follow-up. The brief reveal video offered a glimpse at the system’s sleek design. It also tantalized fans with a hint of a new Mario Kart game and confirmed that the new console will be backwards compatible with its predecessor.
On the topic of games, Nintendo has made it clear that the Switch 2 will support both physical and digital games from the previous iteration. That said, they did caution that not every game might work or be fully compatible with the new hardware.
As for the release, the Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for worldwide availability in 2025, although they’re still keeping the exact launch date under wraps.
