ASRock has given us an early glimpse of their upcoming Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards, as images of the Steel Legend and Taichi custom models have appeared online.
ASRock appears set to roll out a diverse lineup of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, focusing on the Radeon RX 9070 and the RX 9070 XT. While other AIB partners haven’t released “official” images yet, ASRock has leaked some interesting pictures showcasing their Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger models. Let’s start with the Taichi series, which is looking like ASRock’s flagship offering. This card features a sophisticated triple-fan design and a robust heatsink, packing it all into a sizeable three-slot setup.
What’s fascinating about the Taichi model is its inclusion of a 12V-2×6 power connector. Not every model will have this feature, as AMD has left that choice up to its AIB partners, based on the power needs of each specific model. This power connector can handle up to 600W, indicating that the Taichi is designed for high performance and excellent overclocking potential.
Moving on to the Steel Legend variant, which ASRock positions as a mid-range option with both white and silver color options. This card adopts a 2.5-slot triple-fan design and relies on the more standard 2x 8-pin connectors, rather than the 12V-2×6 connector. This setup fits with AMD’s usual AIB partner models, reserving the higher power connector for top-tier models like the Taichi.
As for when these graphics cards will hit the shelves, it’s reasonable to anticipate their market appearance next week. That’s when AMD is expected to begin taking pre-orders for the RX 9070 series.
