Fortnite enthusiasts have recently voiced their dissatisfaction across social platforms regarding the latest battle pass for Chapter 6 Season 2. The default cosmetics are now locked behind six pages of bonus rewards, frustrating many players. These bonus rewards let gamers snag additional edit styles and items beyond the base pass. However, to grab all the available cosmetics, players typically need to reach a total of 150 levels.
Epic Games has rolled out Chapter 6 Season 2, and while several facets of this update have garnered praise, the revamped map and loot pool in particular have caught players’ attention. The map’s new locations have been embraced warmly as they offer fresh areas to discover. Players have expressed their excitement about the new loot, thanks in part to new weapons like the Kneecapper—an innovative addition that allows players to aggressively engage opponents wielding a baseball bat. Additionally, skins such as Big Dill and Outlaw Midas featured in the battle pass have also been well-received by the community.
A Reddit user, BuffWobbuffet, recently highlighted that unlocking the Pickle Chip glider’s default style requires reaching page six of the bonus rewards. This stands in contrast to the Big Dill skin’s default version, which can be obtained earlier by achieving 100 levels. BuffWobbuffet criticized this setup as “ridiculous,” suggesting that not everyone has the time to finish the whole pass plus the extra rewards.
Players are keen for the base battle pass to include default cosmetics, a sentiment echoed in conversations about previous seasons too. Many felt shortchanged as they could only reach level 100, leaving them unable to claim everything. This situation leaves some with mismatched cosmetics, which feels more like an oversight than a reward. The gating of default styles behind bonus rewards is a sticking point for many, as these feel more essential than bonus.
Another concern from fans revolves around the disappearance of Kicks from battle passes. Previously available in November, these can now only be purchased from the Item Shop. While many appreciate the Kicks, they argue it’s overpriced at 1,000 V-Bucks. Lowering the cost or incorporating this item into events or passes could make it more appealing to the community. Despite these grievances, many players are eagerly anticipating what Chapter 6 Season 2 will offer.
