PowerWash Simulator, a game that’s surprisingly comforting despite its messy premise, lets you take charge of a pressure washer in a setting that’s begging for a thorough clean-up. Its charm is undeniable, and it’s done so well that it even boasts collaborations with big names like Warhammer 40,000 and Tomb Raider. Just recently, on Thursday, the folks at FuturLab announced they’re rolling out a new sequel, set to self-publish with even sharper visuals, an all-new campaign, and some nifty cleaning gadgets for gamers to explore. It’s slated for a release later this year across platforms like PlayStation, PC, and Xbox.
They’ve released a teaser trailer that gives us a sneak peek, although it doesn’t spill many details about new features. However, it does promise to retain all the satisfying, spray-and-clean action we loved in the original. What’s really exciting for many is the addition of split-screen multiplayer, allowing players to dive into the grime-busting fun with friends, either sitting next to each other or online.
Dan Chequer, the Design Director at FuturLab, shared in a press release that, “The original game’s design was all about eliminating anything that detracted from the pure satisfaction of taking something dirty and making it clean. PowerWash Simulator 2 is all about adding in even more avenues for players to achieve that same sense of satisfaction, with new tools, features and quality of life improvements.”
Players can look forward to revisiting the ever-so-mucky Muckingham and venturing out to brand-new locales like Sponge Valley, Power Falls, and Lubri City. FuturLab is also promising some enhancements such as more effective cleaning agents, shared campaign progress in online play, and a home base you can customize. While they haven’t locked down a release date just yet, more details are expected to drop in April.
