As you might already know, the game “Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” includes a quirky side mission involving seven golden balls. These aren’t just symbolic, they’re actual golden orbs that Goro Majima needs to collect during a particular sub-story.
Now, before you get any other ideas, these golden spheres are scattered across different locations where Goromaru docks, and the mission is quite similar to one in “Like A Dragon: Gaiden.” Players have been struggling with a bug making it impossible to gather all of them, but thankfully, that glitch has now been squashed. So please, hold off on throwing any rotten produce or threatening to sic Kiryu on anyone.
The fix comes with today’s new patch, update 1.12, launched by RGG on March 7. The patch notes specifically mention, “Fixed an issue where the golden ball could not be obtained.” Thanks, RGG, for keeping that nice and mysterious. Which ball? What exactly went wrong? Was it maybe swiped by one of the many treasure-hunting pirates in the game, other than the bigwigs from the Tojo Clan? I guess we’ll never know. What’s important is that those evasive golden balls are back.
The update doesn’t stop there, though. Here’s a quick rundown of other fixes across all platforms:
– Resolved an issue preventing manual saving.
– Addressed a bug where, under certain conditions, loading saved data on a ship would result in players unintentionally taking a dip in the sea and being stranded. (Admittedly, kinda amusing from a distance.)
– Fixed a problem where arcade game scores weren’t being saved.
– Polished up some typos and localization inconsistencies.
– And implemented various other tweaks to boost stability and enhance quality.
For PC gamers, there have been a couple of additional adjustments: the game now benefits from Intel XeSS 2.0.1, and they’ve tackled a sporadic crash during resource loading. If you’re facing unexpected driver crashes with certain NVIDIA GPUs, RGG suggests setting your FPS to a 60 cap in the settings.
In case you haven’t jumped into Pirate Yakuza yet, be sure to check out my review. I poke some gentle fun at myself for not finding a middle-aged Japanese man taking a shower amusing anymore. Maybe it’s a sign my sense of humor needs a check-up.
