Moon Studios is stepping back onto the scene as an independent developer once more. This announcement came during their recent Wicked Inside event, where they also shared updates about their upcoming action RPG, No Rest For the Wicked.
The studio proudly shared that they’ve regained the publishing rights for No Rest For the Wicked from Private Division, with the rights being sold back by Take-Two in November 2024. In an interesting twist, former team members from Annapurna have been recruited to oversee what’s left of Moon Studios’ project lineup.
On another note, Thomas Mahler, the founder of Moon Studios, took to Twitter with some exciting news. The much-loved Ori series, including The Blind Forest and Will of the Wisps, has achieved over 15 million copies sold collectively.
"Not bad at all for a Metroidvania genre, which many thought was a thing of the past when we first took it on," Mahler remarked. "A huge thank you to everyone who’s been part of our journey so far."
