OneXPlayer has officially rolled out the X1 Pro, a versatile device boasting a sleek 3-in-1 design and driven by AMD’s cutting-edge Strix Point APUs. Standing shoulder to shoulder with gadgets like the F1 Pro and Ayaneo 3, the X1 Pro is among the pioneers using AMD’s Zen 5 Strix Point APUs, giving GPD’s upcoming Pocket 4 mini-laptops a solid rival.
The OneXPlayer X1 Pro shines with its multipurpose design, effortlessly transforming between a laptop, tablet, and handheld device. Similar to the Pocket 4, it packs the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 powerhouse, equipped with 12 cores (four Zen 5 plus eight Zen5c) in a dual-CCX layout, complemented by 12MB of L2 cache and 24MB of L3 cache, reaching speeds of up to 5.1 GHz. On the graphics front, it flaunts a Radeon 890M that offers 16 Compute Units. Thanks to AMD’s XDNA 2, the NPU on the HX 370 can churn out 50 TOPS of AI performance, making it a tech force to reckon with.
The display doesn’t disappoint either. The X1 Pro sports a stunning 10.95-inch 120 Hz LTPS (probably IPS) screen boasting a 2560×1600 (2.5K) resolution. It’s vibrant too, covering 138% of the sRGB color space with a brightness level peaking at 540 nits. You can tailor the storage setup according to your needs, starting from 1TB up to a whopping 4TB, along with blistering speeds of up to 7.1 GB/s for reading and 6.5 GB/s for writing in the 2280 form factor. On top of that, OneXPlayer adds a cherry with a MicroSD card slot for even more storage.
The pricing is laid out attractively, with a presale offering a slightly lower price point:
– HX 370 + 1TB Storage + 32GB RAM: $1,399 (Presale) / $1,599 (Retail)
– HX 370 + 2TB Storage + 32GB RAM: $1,499 (Presale) / $1,699 (Retail)
– HX 370 + 2TB Storage + 64GB RAM: $1,699 (Presale) / $1,859 (Retail)
– HX 370 + 4TB Storage + 64GB RAM: $1,799 (Presale) / $1,999 (Retail)
The X1 Pro’s 65.02Wh battery is marketed as offering up to eight hours of life, but heavy usage, particularly when cranked up to 28W, will drop that to around two hours. Fortunately, OneXPlayer includes a 100W Gallium Nitride charger in the package. Connectivity is solid, with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 packed in.
The gaming experience is enhanced with hall-effect RGB joysticks, designed to avoid the dreaded stick drift issue. As for I/O options, you’ll find two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink interface, a MicroSD card slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack for your connectivity needs.
The pre-orders are officially open as of today, offering a sweet deal to early birds during the presale period. Shipping is slated to begin on January 3rd, and expect to catch a splendid demo of the X1 Pro along with other exciting devices from OneXPlayer at CES 2025 next month.
