We’ve finally marked our calendars! The Switch 2 is set to launch its preorders in the United States after a couple of weeks dominated by tariff discussions.
Nintendo made it official today through a press release, announcing that preorders for the Switch 2 will start on April 24, which falls on a Thursday. As expected, the pricing remains unchanged for now: $449.99 for just the console or $499.99 if you opt for the package that includes the digital version of Mario Kart World.
However, it seems there’s a bit of movement on the accessory prices due to ongoing circumstances. The Switch 2 Pro Controller now carries a $84.99 price tag, up by $5. Similarly, a set of Switch 2 Joy-Cons is priced at $94.99, reflecting the same increase. They’ve also nudged up the cost of the dock set to $119.99, which is $10 more than before. Joy-Con extra straps saw a modest increase to $13.99. All other accessories experienced a $5 bump. You can find a comprehensive list of all hardware MSRPs and the confirmed pricing for both Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza in this article.
For our friends north of the border, it looks like Canadian preorders might kick off on the same day. However, confirmation might be delayed because of a national holiday. Despite this, Nintendo’s Canadian branch has nailed down the same date and nailed down Canadian pricing to boot—though retail partners have yet to update their listings.
