This week has witnessed a significant milestone in the pursuit of Xbox’s vision for a multiplatform presence, with Forza Horizon 5 making its debut on PlayStation—a first for this popular franchise.
From a technical standpoint, the move has been largely applauded, especially considering that Xbox has managed to provide an exceptional console experience on the PS5 Pro, arguably surpassing its own Series X performance.
Regardless of how you might feel about Xbox games losing their console exclusivity, it seems this strategy isn’t going anywhere. Xbox is all about making incredible gaming experiences available to the widest possible audience, whether it’s through Xbox hardware, platforms like Steam and Battle.net, cloud gaming, or now, collaborating with PlayStation and Nintendo.
In an ideal world, this approach would be mutual, and Sony would reciprocate by sharing some of its exclusive titles with Xbox. While it’s true that PlayStation games are making their way to PC these days, appearing on Xbox consoles remains a different beast altogether. At least we have MLB: The Show as a bit of a crossover.
So, if this gaming utopia were to exist, which PlayStation games would you want to see making their way to Xbox? I’m leaving this question up to you to ponder!
For me, some choices seem obvious. Games like Spider-Man Remastered, Spider-Man Miles Morales, and Spider-Man 2 definitely top my wishlist of titles I’d love to see making the leap to the Xbox Series X|S.
Having played these on both PlayStation and PC, I wouldn’t hesitate to dive back in if they ever became available on Xbox. The original Spider-Man game is without a doubt one of my favorites.
Beyond these, Days Gone is another title I’d love to see come over to Xbox. I do own it on PC and have played some of it, and there’s something about it that I believe would resonate well with Xbox fans. It’s distinct enough from State of Decay to carve its own niche, although I think it’s still somewhat underrated.
And while I’m a diehard Forza Motorsport enthusiast, I wouldn’t mind trying Gran Turismo 7 on Xbox either.
But that’s just me. What about you? Whether they’re new, classic, or hidden gems, if there’s a PlayStation game you’d like to see on the Xbox, share your thoughts in the comments below!
