From February 4th at 10 a.m. to February 18th at 10 a.m. PST, players across both the Seasonal and Eternal Realms can soak in the Lunar Awakening event. A peculiar occurrence is enchanting Sanctuary’s shrines, infusing them with tremendous power. Many believe this powerful energy is a blessing from their Ancestors, honoring this festive season from the afterlife.

By activating any Shrine dotted around Sanctuary, including Nahantu, players can enjoy a 100% bonus in experience points for a full two minutes, coupled with increased abilities and a chance to boost their Ancestral Favor Reputation.

To fully immerse yourself in the celebrations of Lunar Awakening, make your way to Ked Bardu and venture to the town’s Northern side. There, you’ll encounter Ying-Yue, the charismatic leader of the Lunar Night Market. This market serves as the central hub of Lunar Awakening, where your Ancestral Favor Reputation can be exchanged for gifts from the Ancestors and beautiful Lunar Renewal-themed rewards.

Explore the sprawling lands of Sanctuary, with Lunar Shrines scattered throughout. Whether you’re battling through challenging dungeons or traversing the rugged wilderness, activating these shrines and defeating monsters will swiftly increase your Ancestral Favor Reputation.

The Lunar Shrines, pulsating with mystical energy thanks to the return of ancestral spirits, have replaced all regular Shrines during Lunar Awakening. By activating these Shrines, players enjoy a generous 100% experience bonus. In a nod to the year of the snake, they’ve been given a special makeover for the festival. Though they operate like standard Shrines, their amplified powers are designed to bring some extra excitement. Keep an eye out for their unique map icons, easily recognizable from afar.

Each Lunar Shrine comes with enhanced effects, adding an exciting twist to the usual Shrine powers. Here’s what you can expect:

• Artillery Shrine: Attacks might trigger a holy bomb.
• Blast Wave Shrine: Each blast could call forth a barrage.
• Channeling Shrine: Enjoy faster attacks and potentially reset cooldowns.
• Conduit Shrine: Trigger frequent, electrifying strikes.
• Greed Shrine: There’s a chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. Kills continue to draw them while the Shrine is active.
• Lethal Shrine: Possibility of instantly vanquishing a foe, causing surrounding monsters to flee. This includes Elites, but no Bosses or Players.
• Protection Shrine: Reflect all incoming damage, adjusted for Level and Difficulty.

Activating a Lunar Shrine not only unleashes these potent effects but also immediately spawns Miserly Spirits, letting you seize the Shrine’s unique gameplay boost right off the bat.

There are 10 tiers to climb within the Ancestral Favor Reputation system, each packed with rewards such as a Resplendent Spark and six unique Lunar-themed cosmetics. And if you make it through all ranks, the bounty doesn’t end—more rewards await through the Unceasing Gifts from the Ancestors.
