Switch 2 Pre-Orders Not Rescheduled for May 8 – Report

Recent reports from IGN suggest that Nintendo might have rescheduled the pre-order date for the Nintendo Switch 2 in North America. However, an official confirmation from Nintendo remains absent. The FAQ section on Nintendo’s pre-order page mentions that the first batch of invitations for their pre-order program will be sent out on May 8th. It’s worth noting that this particular date has been displayed on the FAQ since April 2nd, which was prior to the announcement of any delays. The delay in Switch 2 pre-orders originally stemmed from tariffs introduced by President Donald Trump, affecting various countries and potentially disrupting the shipment of Switch 2 systems to the United States. While many of these tariffs have been largely eased following a 90-day suspension, Nintendo has yet to provide details on the revised pre-order strategy for North America.
