In a significant move within the gaming industry, the well-known outsourcing company, Winking Studios, based in Asia, has announced its acquisition of Mineloader, a Chinese firm. This deal is valued at an impressive £16.3 million, or roughly $19.87 million. Initially, $14.7 million will be paid upfront, with the rest distributed over five years contingent on Mineloader’s performance hitting certain targets.
Mineloader, which has been a player in the art outsourcing sector since 2003, will now join forces with Winking Studios. Speaking about this milestone, Johnny Jan, the CEO and founder of Winking Studios, expressed enthusiasm: “This is our biggest acquisition yet, and it’s a crucial leap forward that strengthens our foothold in the global video game scene. It opens up new opportunities for growth and innovation.”
Jan continued, “The role of game art in development cannot be understated. It provides the creative essence and visual appeal that not only attracts players but also defines their gaming experience. Mineloader’s stellar reputation and expertise in game art production, along with its team of over 460 professionals, complement our existing talent pool of more than 800 employees. This acquisition enhances our capabilities in this area and brings in new clients. Additionally, Mineloader’s established presence in the Japanese market is a valuable asset to our business network.”
By combining forces, Winking Studios aims to leverage Mineloader’s expertise to offer even more diverse and enriched services to their clients, positioning themselves as a dominant force in the industry’s future.
